Justice was served after all, with the Giants out and the Packers in. But I needed a consolation prize as a fan so last night I watched the best sports movie ever. Though the movie is a glossing over of the harder edges to Gehrig's life, there is some irony in that a scene of Gehrig in his very first game as a Yankee show him getting plunked in the head by a throw as he's running to second base. It may have been a series of those plunks and other concussions that really did him in. If true, it's clear he had a disregard for his own well being, but he did have a simple grace about him in interacting with others. The movie got that part right.
