I don't think I had a class on how to balance a checkbook or keep to a budget, but somehow I learned these things. Also, might these skills be harder to teach students in low income households that are chronically short of cash? I grew up in a middle class household and had an allowance as a kid. A lot of the methods are outdated and not helpful to students anymore.
